Rules for Deputation Duty Allowance
When a Central Government employee is appointed on deputation/foreign service, they can opt either for the pay scale of the deputation post OR stay in their parent cadre basic pay and draw Deputation (Duty) Allowance. Under 7th CPC rules, Deputation Allowance is granted @ 5% of Basic Pay (max ceiling ₹4,500/month) for deputation within the same station, and @ 10% of Basic Pay (max ceiling ₹9,000/month) for deputation involving a change of station.
