Editorial Policy & Correction Policy
How we source, verify, correct and update the content on this website.
1. Our editorial mission
Our mission is to help Central Government employees, defence personnel, CAPF and pensioners understand the 8th Central Pay Commission accurately and without hype. We publish plain-language explainers, useful estimation tools, and clearly-labelled updates. We do not publish sensational headlines, false hope, or speculation presented as fact.
2. Sourcing standards
When we state a fact, we prefer, in this order:
- Primary official sources — PIB releases, Department of Expenditure notifications, e-Gazette publications, the Commission's own portal.
- Published Government documents — reports of previous Pay Commissions, DoPT instructions, other official circulars.
- Reputable media — major national dailies and wire services.
- Staff association statements — clearly labelled as such.
- Independent analysis — clearly labelled as analysis, not fact.
Every news item on our News page is tagged by source type and carries a Verified or Unverified badge.
3. Labelling of projections and speculation
Every figure on this site that is not an officially published number is labelled with one of the following:
- Estimated — a mathematical result based on stated assumptions.
- Projected — an extrapolation based on historical patterns.
- Expected — commonly reported but not confirmed.
- Speculated — circulating in public discussion but with no confirmed basis.
- Demand — a position formally sought by a staff association; not a decision by any authority.
Every calculator page displays a visible assumptions panel listing the inputs, formulas and limitations used. We do not hide assumptions.
4. Independence
We are editorially independent of the Government, of political parties, of staff associations, and of any advertiser. Advertising, if introduced, will be clearly separated from editorial content.
5. Corrections policy
We aim for accuracy and we correct errors promptly. If you spot an error factual, numerical, typographical or otherwise please tell us:
- Email us via the Contact page with the subject "Report a factual error".
- Include the URL of the page, a description of the error, and crucially a link to a primary official source that shows the correct position.
- We will acknowledge receipt within 3 working days and investigate.
- Verified errors will be corrected within 5 working days. Material corrections will be noted at the foot of the corrected page with a date stamp.
6. Update policy
Pay Commission information changes frequently. We aim to:
- Update the News feed whenever a material official development occurs.
- Update the Pay Matrix and any affected calculators if the official structure is notified.
- Update the FAQ when commonly asked questions change materially.
- Review every page at least quarterly, even if no major change has occurred.
7. Use of AI tools
We may use AI-assisted tools for drafting, editing and consistency checks. All content is reviewed by a human editor before publication, and every factual claim must be attributable to a public source.
8. Advertising
This website currently displays no third-party advertising. Our content is not influenced by any advertiser. If we ever accept advertising in future, it will be clearly labelled and editorially separated.
9. Contact
